Today is the day that millions of Sony PlayStation 3 gamers will be updating their consoles firmware to version 3.0, therefore to follow on from our earlier article we thought we would look into what features firmware 3.0 will include.
One of the most obvious changes will be that the Information Board which will now be replaced by the “What’s New” section, the What’s New section is pretty self explanatory and will feature PlayStation news which will be located under the PlayStation Network icon.
Another new addition will be the Status Indicator, the Status Indicator will show in the top right corner and will show your user icon, friend icon, how many friends you have online and also will show whether or not you have any new messages.
Other new features also include a re-designed friends list, PlayStation Store shortcut improvements, dynamically customizable themes and avatars and improvements to the Trophy system especially in-regards to add-on content.
